WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER TO VOTE?

Individuals who reside in Connecticut and will be 18 years of age by Election Day.
​
Residents of Connecticut that are 17 years of age and will be 18 years of age by Election Day can pre-register to vote.

HOW CAN I VERIFY MY VOTER INFORMATION STATUS?

You can verify your voter registration status via the official voter registration lookup tool of the Connecticut Secretary of State.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN CONNECTICUT?
​
The voter registration deadline is 7 days before the day of the election.
​
This year the deadline to register to vote is November 1, 2022. In Connecticut people may also register to vote during Election Day on November 8, 2022.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PRE-REGISTER TO VOTE?
​
Residents of Connecticut can pre-register to vote as soon as they turn 17 years old. Pre-registered voters may not participate in an election until they turn 18, and must indicate in their voter registration form that they are not 18 years old yet.

CAN I REGISTER TO VOTE AFTER NOVEMBER 1?
​
Connecticut allows voters to register during Election Day. Voters must check-in at their county's designated Election Day Registration Locations and meet all eligibility requirements. After registering you will be able to vote right away.

HOW DO I REGISTER TO VOTE BY MAIL?
​
Voters can request an absentee ballot to vote by mail. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is November 1, 2022.
The vote by mail application can be completed by downloading this Application for Absentee Ballot and mailing it to your Town Clerk.
